A series that celebrates and explores the contribution of six famous Irish musical families who have brought their music to the four corners of the world. It offers an insight into the musical journey that each family has taken and the influence that previous generations have had on the rich heritage of each family.

Muintir Uí Cheannabáin are natives of An Aird Thoir, Carna, in an area known as Iorras Aithneach in Conamara, probably the richest area in Ireland for Sean-nós songs and singers.

The Glackins are regarded as one of Ireland's most respected traditional music families. Their father Tom hailed from the Rosses and they developed a deep love of the music of Donegal and adopted their father's Donegal-style of fiddling.

Na Vallely's

The Vallelys are a family of musicians and artists from Armagh. JB Vallely is one of Ireland's foremost painters and he and his wife Eithne founded the Armagh Pipers Club.

Cathal & Stephen Hayden grew up in Pomeroy in the rural heartland of County Tyrone. They learned music in the family bar under the watchful eye of their father John, himself a fine banjo player.
