Since it first began 125 years ago the Oireachtas festival has hosted some of the most prestigious competitions in our traditional arts, and has grown from an event frequented by the hundreds to now been perhaps the most important cutural event in modern Ireland. This years festival took place in Killarney with almost 10,000 attending and 700 competitors taking to the stage in song, dance, music and storytelling competitions. In this documentary we follow some of the competitors, some taking to the stage for the first time while others strive for perfection and a place in the history books.
